But what if your budget isn't enough to buy such equipment like CCTV Cameras, Digital Video Recorder and such cables and adapters needed for installment.

Now there is an alternative way to secure your home. No Expensive CCTV cameras, No High Cost DVRs... All what you need is just an ordinary webcam and a computer!

Here's mine installed on one side of our house

First, Have your webcam installed (literally) anywhere you want. It can be inside or outside your house.

You can use a USB 2.0 extension cord to extend your camera farther.
or
you can use USB extension cable
that can extend the distance  your USB beyond the usual limit of extensions which is 5 meters (or 16 feet). click here to know where to

After you connect the wires,extensions and have your camera sticked to your wall.  Plug now your camera to the USB port found in your computer's CPU.(make sure that your USB port is 2.0 or higher so that it could meet the demand of of your camera).

Amcap

Now, If you have your web camera ready and your computer... Just install your webcam on your computer . (Make sure that your web cam is compatible with your computer). After installing you will can see your camera on your Devices and Printers.

NOW.. How can we open this thing? or I mean how can we get this stuff work?

Sometimes when we buy a webcam it comes with a free cd. This CD may contain the driver of the camera and a software needed to operate the cam. Most of the camera's free included software is Amcap.
Amcap however is not good in digital video recording or webcam video recording. Its uses Gigabytes of memory space and another thing is, you have to manually press the "record" button to start the video recording. ts not automatic. So the  bottom-line in portion , The Amcap that comes with your free cd is not that good in surveillance video recording.So..You have to find another webcam software which is designed for surveillance purpose.

Recorded videos will be saved to a specific folder (Its up to you on where you will set it up).

I have mine saved in here. Week after week I transfer this to a DVD so that I have a copy of this in the future




You dont need to be rich to have a surveillace system installed to your house. Its a matter of being resourceful and being wise on finding the right things. Now today, We proved something that in security...I dont have to spend a lot of money to have it.
